ARUSHA: Traders in the country’s mineral sector have continued to submit their gemstones to the Tanzania Gemological Centre (TGC) as part of the preparations for the third gemstone auction scheduled to take place in Arusha on Thursday, November 27, 2025. This process is being carried out step by step to ensure the auction preparations run smoothly and efficiently.

The main purpose of submitting the minerals to TGC is to facilitate their analysis and valuation before they are entered into the auction. This procedure helps enhance transparency in the gemstone trade and ensures that each stone is sold at its rightful value based on its quality and characteristics.

Through this system, the Government aims to strengthen trust among traders and buyers, while also increasing the value of gemstones sold within the country. Accurate valuation is also intended to promote fair competition and attract more buyers to national auctions.

The upcoming auction is expected to attract domestic buyers, a development that increases opportunities for both local and international traders. The availability of more buyers stimulates competition and creates a better trading environment, thereby boosting the contribution of the mineral sector to the nation’s economic growth.
