DAR ES SALAAM: THE Tanzanian government continues to improve the environment in all higher learning institutions and increase the numbers in all regions to enable the country’s citizens to acquire more opportunities to develop themselves academically.
Speaking on behalf of the Minister of Finance, Mr Khamis Mussa Omar, the Deputy Secretary General, Ministry of Finance, Elijah Mwandumbya, at the Fifty-First Graduation Ceremony of the Institute of Financial Management (IFM), held in Dar es Salaam, said the government has implemented and continues to implement various projects to improve education to boost the economy.

‘’This growth is evident in various sectors, particularly; the presence of the BEST SCHOOL project, the Teacher Education Development Project (TESP), the Secondary Education Strengthening Project (SEQUIP), the Empowerment through Skills Project (ESP), the Education for Results Implementation Program (EP4R), the East Africa Skills and Partnership Project (EASTRIP), the Higher Education for Economic Transformation Project (HEET) and other projects,” said Mwandumbya.
Mwandumbya congratulated IFM for providing quality education in a system that is in line with the current environment due to the growth of technology, to reach many students from various parts of the country and abroad.

”I continue to congratulate you after hearing that you are about to start providing training in a way that combines face-to-face technology (Blended mode), and especially after completing the improvements to your curricula because today’s education requires better IT systems to help reach more people,” said Mwandumbya.
Initially welcoming the Chief Guest, the Dean of IFM, Professor Josephat Lotto said that in ensuring that the Finance College is in line with the current environment and needs, the college has introduced various courses to improve efficiency.
‘’The college has introduced specific courses, including a course on cyber security, a course involving data analysis, and a course in the area of Accounting and Technology, to respond to sectoral challenges,’’ said Prof Lotto.

Professor Lotto used the opportunity to announce to students who graduated from various degrees that the college intends to introduce master’s degrees in various courses so that the graduates are welcome to continue their studies at the college immediately after the courses start.
