ARUSHA: TOURISM continues to flourish in Arusha Region heading to the festive season, a situation that has delighted Regional Commissioner, Amos Makalla.

Makalla, who chaired a meeting of the Arusha Regional Security and Defence Committee here, expressed satisfaction that tourism activities are progressing well, with a large number of tourists observed in various attractions across the region.

Additionally, the RC thanked the Tanzania Association of Tour Operators (TATO) for cooperating with the committee during the demonstrations that took place on October 29, 2025, and for their ongoing efforts in promoting Tanzania’s tourism globally.

Mr Makalla used his position as the Chairperson of the Security and Defence Committee in the region to urge tourists to visit Arusha Region while assuring that the security is stable.

“ Those planning trips to Ngorongoro, Mount Kilimanjaro, Serengeti, and Tarangire, welcome to Arusha City,” he stated.

Moreover, he commended President Samia Suluhu Hassan’s efforts in promoting Tanzania’s tourism, stating that the Security and Defence Committee will continue to protect the region’s tourist attractions and ensure the safety of tourists at all times.

He further instructed members of the Committee, including the District Commissioners of the six districts in Arusha Region, to continue strengthening security in their respective areas, closely oversee development projects, and ensure proper preparations for the new school and agricultural season expected to begin in early January 2026.
