DODOMA: INVESTORS from Rwanda’s mining sector have held talks with Dodoma Regional Commissioner Rosemary Senyamule, expressing interest in exploring investment opportunities in iron and copper mining within Dodoma City.

During the discussions, the investors outlined their plans to invest in mining, processing and value addition of the minerals—a move they say will boost mineral value chains and stimulate industrial growth in the region.

They commended the government for offering a conducive investment climate, including free allocation of project sites, which they described as a strong incentive for expanding their ventures.

Beyond iron and copper, the investors plan to establish a cement factory to produce Tipi Cement using waste materials generated from iron production—an initiative aimed at improving efficiency while reducing environmental impact.

They also noted plans to enhance the value of copper by producing finished products locally, a move expected to create jobs, increase revenue and stimulate Dodoma’s economic growth.
