Meaning of “Kibao cha Chapati”

The board provides a flat, clean surface on which dough is rolled out using a rolling pin (*mti wa kupigia chapati*).

Origin:The term comes from two Swahili words:“Kibao” – meaning a small board or plank of wood.“Chapati”– borrowed from Hindi/Urdu, meaning *flatbread.  Together, kibao cha chapati literally means “the board used for making chapati.”
