Lina PG Tour postponed until further noticeLina PG Tour postponed until further notice

ARUSHA: ORGANISERS of the highly anticipated Lina Professional Golfers (PG) Tour Pro-Am have officially announced the postponement of the event’s fifth series.

The tournament, originally scheduled to tee off from December 18–21, 2025, at the Kili Golf Club in Arusha, was set to be the fifth and final series of the 2025 calendar.

One of the tournament organisers, Yasmin Chali, stated that after extensive deliberations, the committee decided to delay the event until further notice.

She expressed regret for any inconvenience caused and extended appreciation to all participants, partners and sponsors for their patience and continued support.

The Lina PG Tour, themed Journey to Your Dream,” had already opened registration for professional and elite amateur golfers, with the entry deadline set for December 8.

The tour is organised in collaboration with the Nkya family, the Tanzania Ladies Golf Union (TLGU), the Tanzania Professional Golfers Association (TPGA) and Penda Golf Tanzania.

It continues to serve as an important platform for developing golfing talent across both amateur and professional ranks.

Held annually across five different courses in Tanzania, the Lina Tour honours the legacy of the late Lina Said Nkya, a former national team player and dedicated TLGU official who passed away in 2021.

The tour also offers elite amateurs the opportunity to earn World Amateur Golf Ranking (WAGR) points, providing a pathway to international opportunities.

Despite the postponement, organisers confirmed that updated information will be communicated in due course.

Chali encouraged golfers to stay connected for further announcements and reassured the golfing community of the committee’s commitment to delivering a high-quality event once scheduling challenges are resolved.

The most recent event, the fourth series of the 2025 Lina Tour, took place in September in Morogoro, where elite amateur Isihaka Daudi staged a dramatic victory.

Representing TPDF Lugalo Golf Club in Dar es Salaam, Daudi completed the 72-hole event at an impressive 1-under-par (69 (-3), 68 (-4), 74 (+2), 76 (+4)).

Finishing just one stroke behind was fellow Lugalo golfer Enosh Wanyeche, winner of the March Series earlier this year.

In the professional category, Fadhil Nkya of the Dar es Salaam Gymkhana Club (DGC) extended his dominant run, clinching his fourth consecutive Lina Tour title.

He carded a total of +16, finishing three strokes ahead of his clubmate and overnight leader Rajab Iddy, who concluded the event at +19 after a difficult final round.
