MOROGORO: TANZANIA, is set to generate 8,000 megawatts of electricity through a mix of energy sources, including the implementation of new power generation projects to ensure a reliable power supply.

THE Ministry of Energy has announced that all will be implemented by 2030.

The statement was issued today, December 15, 2025, by Energy Minister Deogratias Ndejembi during the opening of the Ministry of Energy Staff Council meeting held in Morogoro region. The Minister emphasized that the Ministry, in collaboration with various stakeholders, will continue to set the right energy priorities to ensure strategic projects are implemented on time.

Minister Ndejembi also urged officials from the Ministry, through the Clean Cooking Energy Unit, to continue educating citizens about clean cooking energy. The goal is to achieve a target of 80 percent of Tanzanians using clean cooking energy by 2034, as outlined in the National Clean Cooking Energy Strategy.

He further stressed the importance of public service ethics, calling on Ministry staff to avoid corruption, mismanagement, and negligence, to ensure high-quality services are delivered to Tanzanians. He noted that energy, including electricity, oil, and gas, is a key pillar of the country’s economy.

The Minister also called on staff to work with diligence, integrity, and professionalism to promote the development of the energy sector and strengthen the nation’s economy.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Energy Secretary General, Engineer Felchesmi Mramba, stated that the Ministry will continue to supervise and monitor the implementation of electricity, gas, and oil projects to ensure Tanzanians have access to safe, reliable, and high-quality energy services.
