ARUSHA: THE Deputy Minister for Transport, David Kihenzile, has today, December 15, 2025, commended the Land Transport Regulatory Authority (LATRA) for its digital innovation that has made access to transport services easier for passengers and other users.

That was said when the Deputy Minister visited the authority’s pavilion during the exhibitions of the 18th Transport Sector Performance Review Conference, where he witnessed various transport regulatory activities being implemented by the authority.

While at the LATRA pavilion, Kihenzile commended the authority for the commendable work it is doing, particularly in the use of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) systems that have made access to transport services easier for passengers and other users.

He noted that these systems have significantly contributed to improving service delivery, including the Safari Ticket System, which enables the issuance of bus and train tickets, the LATRA Mobile Application (LATRA App), which provides important information to passengers travelling on upcountry and cross-border bus routes, as well as the Vehicle Tracking System (VTS).

Speaking on the same occasion, the Director General of LATRA, Dr Habibu Suluo, said the authority has distinguished itself in the use of various ICT systems and will continue to implement the vision of the national leadership by enhancing efficiency in the transportation of passengers and cargo across all regulated sectors in the country.

The three-day conference is being held at the Arusha International Conference Centre (AICC) from December 15 to 17, 2025, under the theme “Integrated Transport Systems as a Pillar of Economic Transformation.”
