DAR ES SALAAM: DAR ES SALAAM is set to close the year in electrifying fashion as the seventh edition of the highly anticipated ‘Knockout ya Mama’ boxing spectacle lights up Posta Grounds in Kijitonyama today.

The high-profile tournament, organised by Mafia Boxing Promotion, will feature 14 action-packed bouts, bringing together top local and international fighters.

With prestigious PST and WBO Africa championship belts up for grabs, fans can expect a thrilling display of skill, power and determination.

Speaking to journalists in Dar es Salaam, Mafia Boxing Promotion Director, Ally Zayumba confirmed that preparations for the event are at an advanced stage, with boxers and their trainers intensifying final workouts to ensure Tanzanian fighters rise to the occasion and keep the coveted titles at home.

“We are coming in much stronger this season. Knockout ya Mama has delivered real results for our boxers. Many began at the grassroots level, but today they are climbing the ranks, earning two, three and even threeand-a-half star ratings,” Zayumba said.

He highlighted that the steady growth of the tournament has created space to include boxers beyond Mafia Boxing Promotion, a move he described as vital for nurturing young talent and expanding opportunities within Tanzania’s professional boxing scene.

Zayumba called on Tanzanians at home and abroad to turn out in large numbers to support the fighters, stressing that strong fan backing plays a crucial role in boosting performance and ensuring championship belts remain on Tanzanian soil.
