SANYA JUU: THE Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced former Deputy Minister of Health, Dr Godwin Mollel, as the winner of the parliamentary seat for Siha Constituency in Kilimanjaro Region.
Dr Mollel secured the post during a by-election that was held on Tuesday, December 30, 2025, after being postponed following the death of Daudi Ntuyehabi, the former parliamentary candidate for the Civic United Front (CUF), who passed away before the general election was conducted.
Announcing the results on the night of December 30, 2025, the supervisor of elections in the Constituency, Marko Masue, said that Dr Mollel obtained 51,769 votes, equivalent to 78.4 percent, while his closest rival from the NRA Party, Ntaana Thobias, received 4,992 votes, equivalent to 7.56 percent.

Meanwhile, the candidate of ACT Wazalendo, Ashukuriwe Matemu, received 3,678 votes, equal to 5.57 percent.
The candidate of the Sauti ya Umma (SAU) Party, Mdoe Ambazi, obtained 3,128 votes (4.74 percent), while the candidate of the MAKINI Party, Daniel Nsila, received 2,007 votes (3.04 percent).
