HANDENI: PRIME Minister Mwigulu Nchemba has laid a foundation stone for the construction of a 132-kilovolt power substation project in Mkata, Tanga Region, worth 98.46bn/-.

The project, which is expected to be completed in October this year, is anticipated to resolve electricity challenges for residents of Handeni and Kilindi District, while also increasing revenue and creating employment opportunities for various groups, including youth.

The Prime Minister is in the Tanga Region for a five-day working visit to inspect projects worth 758bn/-across eight districts of the region.

While in the region, the Premier has also urged farmers and pastoralists to stop fighting each other and engaging in conflicts that have caused significant harm within their communities.

Elaborating, the PM said that both farmers and pastoralists are Tanzanians who are free to live anywhere in the country, provided they follow proper procedures to avoid such conflicts.

Moreover, he directed relevant authorities, including security and defense organs, not to ignore those conflicts but to take direct responsibility in resolving them.
