
MOROGORO: THE Deputy Minister for Natural Resources and Tourism, Hamad Hassan Chande, has led an awards and recognition ceremony organised by the Tanzania Forestry Research Institute (TAFORI) through its Human Resources Management, to acknowledge and appreciate the performance of Members of the Board of Directors over three years.
During the event, several leaders from the Ministry of Natural Resources and Tourism were presented with special awards, including the Conservation Commissioner of the Tanzania Forest Services Agency (TFS), Prof Dos Santos Silayo.

The leaders were honoured for his contribution to strengthening the forestry and conservation sector.
TAFORI also presented awards to the Minister, Deputy Minister, Permanent Secretary, and Deputy Permanent Secretary for Tourism, with some represented by their officials.
The Tanzania Forestry Research Institute (TAFORI) has the main goal of being a centre of excellence in research for forestry and beekeeping development in the country.
Among many of the institution’s functions is to promote the development, improvement and protection of the forestry industry, to carry out and promote the carrying out of enquiries, experiments and research and to collect or facilitate the collection of information for the purpose of promoting forestry and teaching of forestry.
