TUNDUMA: SONGWE Region has continued to show great awareness in the investment sector following a special seminar to promote investment provided by the Tanzania Investment and Special Economic Zones Authority (TISEZA).

The seminar, which targeted domestic investors, was attended by more than 120 large and small businessmen and entrepreneurs from various parts of the region, showing their interest in taking advantage of the investment opportunities and incentives offered by TISEZA.

The guest of honour at the seminar, Songwe Regional Commissioner Jabir Makame, thanked TISEZA for bringing investment education closer to the citizens and the private sector of the region.

“Songwe has many resources and investment opportunities in agriculture, industry, and trade. This seminar has come at the right time to encourage our businessmen to take advantage of the tax and non-tax incentives offered by TISEZA to grow the economy of the region and the nation as a whole.”

In addition, the Regional Commissioner launched an investor service desk in Songwe by handing over working tools to the investment officer and officially establishing the desk.

This is in line with the President’s instructions to move closer to the people. This step will also facilitate access to services and stimulate economic growth in the Songwe region.

For his part, Daudi Riganda, Investment Promotion Manager from TISEZA presented in detail the investment incentives, project registration procedures, as well as the benefits of investing in special economic zones, urging participants to take immediate steps to seize the opportunities available in Songwe region and become investors for their own benefit and the Nation as a whole.

The seminar has become an important platform for discussions between the government and the private sector, as part of a broader strategy to encourage domestic investment and increase the contribution of Tanzanian investors to the development of the national economy.
