DAR ES SALAAM: THE advancement of science and technology is invading each sector, hence requiring people to adapt to such changes or else they may be left far behind.

Nowadays, technology has become the order of the day meaning that you have to use it for the sake of splinting along with the demands of the current world.

Honestly, the growth of technology is bringing positive impacts in daily lives of many people since the execution of different tasks has now been simplified unlike in the past when such task were time consuming.

However, education is another sector that cannot run away from the growth of technology and it is the essential area which has to embrace technology at all cost.

Basing on the fact that people are the ones at the center of enhancing technology, then it is crystal clear that both students and teachers should be well equipped with necessary skills concerning this move.

As such, the Tanzania Youth Teachers AI Conference (TAYT-AIC) has made a step further by organizing a convenient platform that will facilitate the growth of technology in schools.

The conference they have arranged is set to equip teachers with practicable ways on how to integrate Artificial Intelligence (AI) in their teaching profession.

The impactful three-day conference is scheduled from March 18th to 20th in Arusha, bringing under under one roof educators, students, technology experts and relevant stakeholders to explore dynamic roles of AI in shaping the future of learning.

Briefing reporters in Dar es Salaam yesterday, TAYTAIC Coordinator Mr Kelvin Mshanga said the conference is aimed at leveraging AI for better teaching, learning and career opportunities.

“With AI increasingly becoming a part of our daily lives, the conference target to help Tanzanian educators understand its potential, explore its application in classrooms and discover how to integrate it into their teaching systems,” he said.

He further noted that education sector is critical when it comes to technology advancements hence TAYTAIC is coming at a right moment to expose AI hidden opportunities.

“AI offers scores of opportunities from personalized learning experiences for students to smarter administrative processes in schools… however, many educators lack proper training to fully understand and implement AI tools effectively in their classes,” he said.

Additionally, he pointed out that the conference will feature workshops, panel discussions as well as keynote speeches from experts for the sake of making an inclusive and efficient learning environment.

“Beneficiaries will learn how AI can automate administrative tasks, support personalized learning and assist in students assessment. “Again, the conference will be a good networking platform as attendees will discuss challenges and opportunities of incorporating AI into the Tanzanian education system.

“There will also be panel discussions and workshops where different topics will be tabled like data privacy, AI ethics as well as the role of AI in achieving education goals as outlined in the Tanzania’s development plans.

“On the other hand, workshops will focus on the mechanisms that teachers can apply to include AI in their teaching methods like creating digital classrooms, engaging students with AI tools and fostering a techdriven learning environment,” he said.

Also, Mr Mshanga disclosed that during the conference, young people will have a chance to interact with professionals hence gaining skills that can sharpen their careers.

Meanwhile, as Tanzania strives to become a leader in digital education, TAYT-AIC serves as an important step towards achieving this great goal.

By equipping teachers with the skills and knowledge needed to integrate AI into their classrooms, the conference plays a vital role in transforming Tanzania’s education system.

It also aligns with national goals to improve access to quality education, harness technology for social good and build a tech-loving workforce that is ready to adapt at any time.

AI in education can bring about significant change, particularly for remote areas where access to high-quality learning resources may be limited. Through AI-driven tools, teachers can offer tailored support to students based on their individual learning styles and needs.

This personalized approach promises to bridge the education gap and provide equal opportunities for students across the country.

In this regard, attendees of the upcoming conference are assured to generate enough knowledge on all AI related topics basing on the fact that it has the ability to bring required impacts.

The conference is open to educators, students, school administrators, tech enthusiasts, and anyone passionate about the potential of AI to modernize learning industry.

Therefore, ensure that you are part of this historic event that will define the future of education in Tanzania and enable both teachers and learners to thrive as far as technology is concerned.
