
DAR ES SALAAM: THE Ambassador of Singapore to Tanzania, Douglas Foo has arrived in the country for a six-day official visit in a two-country bid to strengthen their bilateral cooperation.
Ambassador Foo, who is based in Singapore, will be in Tanzania from February 22 to 27, this year.
The purpose of the visit is to promote collaboration in trade, investment, and the exchange of expertise in various areas, including port management, good governance, urban planning, and industrial development.
Ambassador Foo has already arrived in Dar es Salaam, where he was received by the Acting Director of the Asia and Australasia Department, Dr. Luangisa Francis. He is accompanied by Desiree Wee Zhi Yi, the Desk Officer responsible for South Asia and Sub-Saharan Africa at Singapore’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

While at the airport, Ambassador Foo also had the opportunity to greet the Minister for Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation, Ambassador Mahmoud Thabiti Kombo, who was en route to Songwe for official duties. Minister Kombo was accompanied by the Deputy Permanent Secretary of the ministry, Ambassador Said Shaib Mussa, as well as Tanzania’s Ambassador to the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Lieutenant General (Rtd.) Yacoub Mohamed.
According to the visit’s schedule, Ambassador Foo is expected to meet with various government and private sector leaders to discuss opportunities and strategies to further enhance cooperation between the two countries.
