
DAR ES SALAAM: THE Tanzanian government said it will continue to learn from Singapore in international trade, fisheries, aviation, tourism, and technology, the sectors in which it has excelled.
THE Deputy Minister for Industry and Trade, Denis Londo, revealed this during his talks with the Singapore Ambassador to Tanzania, Douglas Foo, which aimed to strengthen cooperation between Tanzania and Singapore, particularly in the areas of trade and investment.
The discussions took place on February 23, 2026, at the Ministry of Industry and Trade’s sub-office in Dar es Salaam. During the meeting, Londo stated that Tanzania highly values the existing bilateral relations and cooperation between the two countries.
He noted that Tanzania has made significant progress in trade and investment through various policy and business environment reforms.
However, he emphasized that the country will continue to learn from Singapore, especially in sectors where it has excelled, including manufacturing, international trade, fisheries, aviation, tourism, and technology.

Londo stressed that the Tanzanian government is committed to facilitating and expanding trade between the two nations, including fast-tracking the implementation of the Double Taxation Agreement in collaboration with Singapore to further stimulate investment and trade.
For his part, Ambassador Foo thanked the Tanzanain government for its commitment to strengthening bilateral cooperation and affirmed that Singapore is ready to support Tanzania in its efforts to achieve sustainable development.
He also expressed Singapore’s readiness to cooperate in developing Tanzania’s industrial sector, particularly in the establishment and enhancement of industrial parks to attract modern and productive investments.
The visit forms part of Ambassador Foo’s official schedule of meetings with various government and private sector leaders in Tanzania. He is in the country for a six-day working visit from February 22 to 27, 2026.
