ARUSHA: TEN Tanzanian students have been awarded the scholarship for Master’s degree studies in Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, and Computational Science under the Samia Scholarship Extended (SSE DS/AI+) programme.

The Ministry of Education, Science and Technology announced this in Dar es Salaam today, Febuar 25, 2026, noting that the government has already begun offering scholarships for the program where the students are expected to pursue their studies at the Nelson Mandela African Institution of Science and Technology in Arusha.

Additionally, the ministry noted that through the same programme, another ten students are expected to undertake their Master’s studies at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras, Zanzibar Campus.

According to the ministry, the decision to sponsor students at Master’s level is driven by national demand, noting that the government has allocated 5bn/- to facilitate the programme’s implementation.

Moreover, the ministry invited various stakeholders to support the government’s efforts by contributing to the Samia Scholarship fund.

Meanwhile, students who have secured undergraduate scholarships under the Samia Scholarship programme have been advised to check their names on the Ministry’s website (www.moe.go.tz), the Tanzania Commission for Science and Technology (www.costech.or.tz), and the Nelson Mandela African Institution of Science and Technology website (www.nm-aist.ac.tz).
