
MUHEZA: THE Minister of State in the Prime Minister’s Office (Regional Administration and Local Government (PO-RALG), Prof Riziki Shemdoe, has directed Regional Administrative Secretaries and Council Directors not to transfer or recommend transfers for public servants found with disciplinary cases in Regional Authorities and Local Government Authorities.
The Minister issued the directives during a working session with public servants in Muheza District aimed at strengthening accountability in the management and use of development project funds.

Addressing the officials, Prof Shemdoe instructed that appropriate disciplinary proceedings be instituted against the officials in accordance with established laws and regulations.
The directions came following instructions by Prime Minister Mwigulu Nchemba, who, during his recent visit to Muheza, uncovered misappropriation of funds in the District Administration Building project and ordered immediate action.
During his visit, the PM directed Prof Shemdoe and the Minister of State in the President’s Office (Public Service Management and Good Governance), Ridhiwani Kikwete, to ensure that those responsible are held accountable.
