KIBAYA:  PRIME Minister Mwigulu Nchemba has directed the Commander of the Prevention and Combating of Corruption Bureau (PCCB) in Manyara Region, Bahati Haule, to conduct a thorough investigation and submit a report naming each individual involved in the misappropriation of funds from the Kiteto District Commissioner’s Office construction project.

The Prime Minister gave the directives earlier today when laying the foundation stone for the Kiteto District Commissioner’s Office noting that in addition to recovering the misappropriated funds, disciplinary action must be taken against all officials involved to strengthen accountability in the management of public resources.

The office project is expected to cost a total of 1.85bn/- to completion, with construction currently at 85 percent.

“I want this report to be presented before I conclude my tour in the region. I need individual reports for everyone involved in taking these funds. We were not sent here to vandalize public funds; disciplinary measures must be enforced,” he said.

However, the PM also said that in addition to the investigation report, he also expects a report on internal revenues, including income from auctions, showing how such funds are collected and utilized.

“There will be no tolerance for the mismanagement of public assets. We want everyone to respect project funds,” he stated.
