DODOMA: THE Tanzanian government has reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening collaboration with the Global Fund to boost healthcare delivery across the country.

This was reached in a meeting between Tanzania’s Deputy Minister for Health, Dr Florence Samizi, with the Global Fund’s Head of African Impact Countries, Mr Linden Morison, and Chief Financial Officer, Mr Mark Edingtori which aimed at enhancing cooperation in key areas of the health sector.

In their discussions, Dr Samizi stressed that the government remains determined to work closely with development partners to guarantee quality, timely and equitable health services for all Tanzanians.

Additionally, she noted that sustained partnership with the Global Fund is critical in advancing national health priorities and achieving global development targets in the sector.

The Global Fund has been a key partner in supporting Tanzania’s fight against major diseases and in reinforcing the country’s healthcare infrastructure.

The meeting, also attended by Deputy Permanent Secretary in charge of Pharmaceuticals and Medical Devices, Mr Emmanuel Tayari, focused on priority areas including strengthening health systems, ensuring steady availability of medicines and medical equipment, and improving implementation of Global Fund-supported programmes.
