DAR ES SALAAM: TANZANIA’SFinance Minister, Khamis Mussa Omar, on February 25, 2026, launched two mobile offices (special vehicles) in the commercial areas of Mwenge and Tegeta in Dar es Salaam.
The vehicles will be used by the Tanzania Revenue Authority (TRA) to provide services to taxpayers in various parts of the country.
The two vehicles are part of a fleet of ten provided by the Government through the Ministry of Finance to improve access to tax services, particularly in areas facing challenges in using TRA’s digital tax systems due to limited or unreliable internet connectivity.
Speaking to residents and taxpayers at different times in Mwenge and Tegeta, Ambassador Omar urged them to make full use of the service to access various tax-related assistance, including guidance on the proper way to pay taxes and fulfill their legal obligations.

He said the Sixth Phase Government recognizes the significant contribution of taxpayers to national development, which is why it has invested in the equipment to enhance tax payment efficiency and improve service delivery to citizens.
Responding to requests and views from members of the public, the Minister said that under directives from President Samia Suluhu Hassan, the Government plans—through the main budget to be presented in Parliament in June this year—to increase funds allocated to the Regional Administration and Local Government for loans to women, youth, and people with special needs from the current 10 percent to 15 percent. The increase is also intended to improve infrastructure that supports citizens’ businesses, including the construction and upgrading of markets.
Ambassador Omar expressed satisfaction with public feedback regarding the positive relationship between TRA and taxpayers, emphasizing the importance of maintaining that cooperation. He encouraged citizens to continue paying taxes voluntarily to enable the government to fulfill its responsibilities and accelerate national development.
