
PAKISTAN: Pakistan strikes the Afghan capital of Kabul as part of a wave of attacks across the country, according to a government official.
As tensions flare, Pakistan’s PM says the country has “the full capability to crush any aggressive ambitions”, while the defence minister declares “open war” on the Afghan Taliban.

A spokesperson for the Afghan Taliban says on X it has responded with renewed attacks against Pakistani troops – though the post has now been deleted.
“We will retaliate if we are attacked, but we won’t start clashes at the moment,” a Taliban military spokesperson tells the BBC.
