TANGA: THE Ministry of Works, through its Department of Safety and Environment (DSE), has conducted road safety inspections and specialized training for engineers and technical craftsmen in Tanga and Kilimanjaro regions as part of efforts to improve the safety of road infrastructure across the country.
A statement from the ministry today, February 27, 2026, noted that in Tanga Region, the inspection covered roads from Manga to Segera and from Segera to Tanga Port while in Kilimanjaro Region, roads from Mkomazi to Kilimanjaro International Airport (KIA) were assessed.

Alongside the inspections, ministry experts conducted training for engineers and technical staff in the regions to build capacity in road design, construction, and infrastructure management that ensures safety for all road users.

The ministry further stated that among the many topics covered are the Safe System Approach, safe road design, roadside infrastructure planning, design and placement of protective barriers, and proper use of road signage.
The training was led by Engineer Omary Kinyange, in collaboration with Engineers Andrew Leo and Swalehe Swalehe.

Speaking during the training, Engineer Kinyange emphasized the importance of adhering to safety standards at every stage of road construction to ensure roads are safe for all users.
