DAR ES SALAAM: AHEAD of International Women’s Day on March 8, 2026, the Ministry of Lands, Housing and Human Settlements Development has organized a special land clinic for women, known as the ‘Samia Ardhi Kliniki’. The clinic aims to provide professional support on land issues and issue land titles to women who have reached the stage of land ownership.
The announcement was made today, February 27, 2026, by Lucy Kabyemela, Deputy Secretary General of the Ministry of Lands, Housing and Human Settlements Development. She stated that the service will be offered across 26 regions of mainland Tanzania, led exclusively by female staff. The clinic’s slogan will be: “Woman; Your Right, Own It Now.”
“This clinic aims to reach more women and empower them to own land, unlike the current situation where only about 28 percent of women own land,” Kabyemela said.

She added that the operation of this clinic is part of the directives from President Samia Suluhu Hassan, ensuring that citizens receive quality services as public servants leave their offices to reach communities and provide services closer to their areas.
Furthermore, Kabyemela explained that the government continues to make efforts to remove obstacles preventing women from owning land, as many lack proper understanding of their rights related to land ownership.
She urged all women to participate in the Samia Land Clinic to gain knowledge about their rights and the principles of land ownership and management. She also called on men to allow and encourage their wives to take advantage of this opportunity.
