DAR ES SALAAM: TANZANIA’S national ladies’ golf team captain, Neema Olomi, delivered a spirited and consistent performance to finish joint second at the 2026 Entebbe Ladies Open, held over three days at the picturesque Entebbe Golf Club.

The 54-hole championship, which concluded over the weekend, attracted top ladies’ golfers from the East African Community (EAC), including Kenya, Tanzania and hosts Uganda.

Olomi posted rounds of 76, 75, and an impressive 74, bringing her total score to 225 (+12), which secured a share of second place.

Her steady improvement across the three days highlighted her composure and competitive edge.

She tied with Uganda’s Peace Kabasweka, finishing five strokes behind Kenya’s Mercy Nyachama, who claimed the title with a total score of 220 (+7).

Olomi’s final-round 74 proved decisive, cementing Tanzania’s place on the podium in a tournament largely dominated by Ugandan and Kenyan golfers.

Tanzania also celebrated a strong performance from Vicky Elias, who finished ninth overall with a total score of 246 (+33). Elias opened with rounds of 84 and 83 before closing strongly with a 79, one of her best rounds of the tournament to secure a top-10 finish.

Her resilience in the final round helped maintain Tanzania’s competitive presence among the region’s elite players.

Loveness Frank placed 22nd with a total score of 258 (+45), recording rounds of 81, 88, and 89. She was also recognized in the Silver Category, earning the Best Day One Gross trophy.
