
DAR ES SALAAM: THE Tanzanian government said it values various education research being conducted, saying they will help in making reforms in education a country that aims to prepare young people gain skills that make them self-employed or employable.
The remarks came today, February 25, 2026, from the government, through the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology (Education)
The Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Dr Husein Mohamed Omary, said during the third meeting of the TIE Edlab advisory board, which included donors of What Works Hub for Global Education Tanzania (WWHGE) and various education stakeholders.
He said that the responses to the research conducted will help in increasing the efficiency of education as stated in the National Development Vision towards the year 20250.
“I thank the donors of this research for continuing to empower TIE-Edlab in achieving its responsibilities and empowering the MEWAKA learning community to empower teachers in their workplaces and greatly assist in our education in Tanzania,” said Dr Omary.

In line with that, Dr Omary urged the participants of the session to participate fully in the future of improving education and urged researchers to continue conducting useful research in education to bring about positive changes, especially in the area of teaching and learning.
For his part, the Director General of the Tanzania Institute of Education (TET) Dr Aneth Kombo, said that, through TIE-Edlab, the performance of work in the research area has been able to improve significantly.
She explained that, in the responses to the surveys they were able to conduct through various means, including through various TET social networks, they have been able to obtain answers that will help in strengthening education in the country.
