ZANZIBAR: PRESIDENT Samia Suluhu Hassan has called on Christians and all Tanzanians to use the Christmas holiday—the commemoration of the birth of Jesus Christ—as an opportunity to strengthen their love for God, show love to one another, and care for the needy in society.

She made the remarks in her Christmas greetings to Christians and all Tanzanians who celebrate the holiday annually on December 25, emphasizing that the values of love, tolerance, and humility are essential foundations for national unity and social well-being.

President Samia urged Tanzanian citizens traveling and gathering with family members, relatives, and friends to celebrate the holiday in peace and joy while observing safety, and to maintain respect and harmony among themselves.

She reminded the nation that Christmas is not only a time for celebration, but also a moment to reflect on every Tanzanian’s responsibility to safeguard the country so that it continues to be grounded in peace, stability, justice, and truth, for the benefit of both the present and future generations.

The President concluded her message by praying for God’s blessings and protection for Tanzanians, underscoring the importance of promoting unity and love as pillars of national development.
