DAR ES SALAAM: The Aga Khan has reaffirmed plans to continue investing in Tanzania.

This was disclosed in a conversation between the highest leader of Agha Khan, Princess Zahra and the Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation, Dr Ngwaru J. Maghembe, during her working visit to the country from February 8–14, 2026.

Speaking on behalf of the Minister for Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation, Dr Maghembe, commended the Aga Khan Development Network for its longstanding role in Tanzania, highlighting decades of investment in health, education, sports and culture.

He said the partnership has delivered significant social and economic gains.

Tanzania and the Aga Khan established diplomatic cooperation in 1991.

Princess Zahra Aga Khan is the eldest child of Karim al-Husseini (also known as Aga Khan IV) and Salimah Aga Khan.
