DAR ES SALAAM: TANZANIA is standing at a promising crossroads. Across continents, President Samia Suluhu Hassan is meeting investors, promoting national strengths and presenting Tanzania as a reliable destination for trade, industry, tourism, agriculture, technology and infrastructure. Every visit abroad sends a clear message: the world is paying attention and opportunities are arriving. Kudos!
The ball is now in our court and the real question is whether Tanzanians are ready to seize them. Foreign investors can bring capital, markets, skills, and partnerships, but the greatest beneficiaries should be local entrepreneurs, traders, manufacturers, farmers, innovators and service providers. No foreign delegation can build prosperity for citizens who remain spectators.
This is the moment for the business community to think beyond traditional boundaries. Companies should seek joint ventures, expand production, improve standards, embrace innovation, and position themselves within regional and global value chains.
For young people, the message is equally urgent. Less time spent on endless political arguments and smartphone chatter can mean more time researching markets, learning skills, building networks and launching enterprises. Opportunity favours action.
Encouragingly, the government has also strengthened support mechanisms for youth empowerment, including a ministry dedicated to advancing youth interests and participation.
In addition, we also have loan programmes from public institutions, local authorities, financial organisations, and development initiatives, which provide avenues for accessing business capital and these resources must be tapped by the youth.
Rather than waiting for success to appear automatically, ambitious Tanzanians should prepare bankable projects, strengthen financial discipline and cultivate competitive products and services. When investors arrive, local businesses must be ready to supply, partner, export, and grow.
Tanzania cannot maximise investment gains if its most energetic citizens remain distracted. Prosperity will belong to those who recognise changing realities and move decisively. The nation needs builders, producers, exporters, and innovators.

The opportunity is here. Let this era of investor confidence become a catalyst for wider participation in wealth creation. By combining hard work, entrepreneurship, available financing, and strategic thinking, Tanzanians can transform international interest into jobs, incomes, industries, and lasting prosperity for future generations.
Now is the time to act with purpose and determination. Every shop, farm, workshop, startup and factory can become part of this national momentum. Seize connections, pursue markets, attract partnerships, create value, expand exports, strengthen communities and build a stronger, more competitive, more prosperous Tanzania for all citizens.
