KIGOMA: YOUNG Africans interim Coach, Abdihamid Moallin, commended his players 2-0 away victory over Mashujaa in a Mainland Premier League match at Lake Tanganyika Stadium in Kigoma on Saturday.
The win moved Young Africans to 63 points from 26 matches, keeping them ahead of rivals Simba in the title race with four matches remaining this season.
Moallin said his side expected a difficult contest away from home but managed to deliver the result needed in the championship race.
“Alhamdulillah, tough game coming here. We knew it was not going to be an easy game, but Alhamdulillah for the three points,” said Moallin.
He credited the players for their performance and thanked supporters who travelled to back the team throughout the match.

“The boys did really well and thanks to the fans who came out in numbers. They supported the team very well throughout the game and we needed that energy and support to finish the game today (Saturday),” he said.
Moallin noted that the victory was important, but stressed that the title race was still open before the end of the campaign. Yanga’s next fixtures include against Fountain Gate on June 18, Azam on June 24, TRA on June 27 and JKT Tanzania on June 30.
“I congratulate the players for a great effort. Still not done, bado mechi nne (we still have four matches) and we have to go to the next one,” he added.
The result dealt another setback to Mashujaa, who remained 11th in the league table with 27 points from 26 matches as they continue their fight to move further away from the relegation zone.
