MBEYA: TANZANIA Prisons captain, Lambart Sabiyanka has described their upcoming Mainland Premier League fixture against Singida Black Stars as a decisive encounter in the club’s battle to avoid relegation.
They head into the match in strong form after registering three consecutive victories, that brought hopes to remain in the top-flight.
Sabiyanka said this during an interview at Sokoine Memorial Stadium. He noted that the recent winning streak had strengthened the team’s belief and fighting spirit ahead of the crucial fixture scheduled for Wednesday at Airtel Stadium in Singida.
“We currently have very high morale due to the victories we have achieved,” said Sabiyanka. “We understand the importance of the game against Singida Black Stars, and we believe that if we get a good result, we can ensure our safety.”
Despite the improved run, the skipper cautioned that Prisons are not yet safe from relegation danger, stressing the need for focus in the remaining fixtures.
“We know we are not safe yet because the points we have can still be reached by other teams,” he said.
Prisons endured a difficult start to the campaign, including multiple coaching changes, but have recently shown signs of recovery.
Their revival began with a 3-2 away win over Pamba Jiji in Mwanza, followed by a 3-1 home victory against Dodoma Jiji at Sokoine Stadium, before sealing a 1-0 win over JKT Tanzania.
