Through our partnership with DTBi under the Airtel Fursa Lab programme, we continue to empower young people and women with digital skills, financial literacy, innovation and entrepreneurship opportunities. By investing in young people today, we are helping build a stronger and more inclusive digital economy for Tanzania,” she said.

Singano noted that equipping youth with skills to transform electronic waste into valuable resources not only supports environmental sustainability but also creates new economic opportunities.

“The willingness of young people to learn how to transform electronic waste into valuable resources is an important step toward building a digital economy and creating employment opportunities for current and future generations. These efforts are aligned with Tanzania’s Vision 2050 aspirations of leveraging technology and innovation to drive sustainable development,” she added.

The ReFab Dar 2 Workshop forms part of Airtel Tanzania’s broader commitment to promoting innovation, entrepreneurship and digital skills development. Through hands-on learning, participants gained practical exposure to circular economy principles and responsible e-waste management while exploring business opportunities within the sector.

In addition to Airtel Fursa Lab, the company continues to champion environmental sustainability through its E-Waste Go Green initiative, which raises public awareness on proper electronic waste disposal, recycling and environmentally responsible practices.

Singano urged young innovators to take advantage of the opportunities available through Airtel Fursa Lab to develop practical solutions that address community challenges and unlock new business opportunities.

“We encourage young people to use the skills and resources available through Airtel Fursa Lab to develop innovative solutions that will transform challenges into opportunities. Together, we can turn technology into opportunity and e-waste into wealth,” she said.

Airtel Tanzania also commended DTBi, BUNI Hub, TechStar Innovation Hub and other partners for their continued collaboration in strengthening Tanzania’s innovation ecosystem and equipping young people with the skills needed to thrive in the digital and circular economy.
