
DAR ES SALAAM: PRESIDENT of Egypt Abdel Fattah El-Sisi is expected in the country today for a one-day state visit aimed at strengthening bilateral relations, expanding economic cooperation and exploring new investment opportunities between Tanzania and Egypt.
The visit, extended at the invitation of President Dr Samia Suluhu Hassan, is expected to provide a platform for the two countries to review areas of cooperation and identify new opportunities for collaboration in trade, investment and development.
According to a statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation, President El-Sisi will be officially received by President Samia at State House in Dar es Salaam, where the two leaders will hold bilateral talks.
“The two leaders will hold bilateral talks to discuss a wide range of issues of mutual interest, with particular emphasis on deepening bilateral cooperation, expanding economic partnerships and exploring new avenues for collaboration in areas of shared interest,” the statement reads.
Following the talks, the two Heads of State are expected to address a joint press conference to outline the outcomes of their discussions and share their vision for further strengthening relations between Tanzania and the Arab Republic of Egypt.

A key highlight of the visit will be the Tanzania-Egypt Business Forum, which will be jointly officiated by Presidents Samia and El-Sisi.
The forum is expected to bring together business leaders, investors, private sector representatives and senior government officials from both countries to discuss investment opportunities, establish commercial partnerships and promote stronger economic ties.
The meeting is expected to contribute to shared economic growth and sustainable development by encouraging increased trade and investment cooperation between Tanzania and Egypt.
“The programme will culminate in the holding of the Tanzania-Egypt Business Forum, which will be officiated by the two Heads of State to explore new investment opportunities, strengthen commercial partnerships and advance economic cooperation for shared growth, prosperity and sustainable development,” the statement said.
The visit underscores the continued commitment by Tanzania and Egypt to deepen their strategic partnership, advance economic diplomacy and preserve longstanding historical ties for the mutual benefit of the people of both countries.
Tanzania and Egypt have maintained close relations over the years, with cooperation extending across various sectors, including trade, agriculture, infrastructure, energy, education and health.
