DAR ES SALAAM: The Tanzania Premier League Board (TPLB) has imposed fines on Simba SC and Young Africans SC (Yanga) over separate incidents that occurred during NBC Premier League matches played on June 16, 2026.

According to a statement issued by the League Management and Administration Committee, Simba SC has been fined TZS 10 million after its supporters splashed water on first assistant referee Frank Komba during the match against Pamba Jiji FC, which Simba won 2-1.

TPLB said the penalty was imposed because the offense was a repeat occurrence during the 2025/2026 season, with Simba supporters having been involved in similar incidents in three different matches, leading to disciplinary action against the club.

In a separate incident, a Young Africans SC supporter identified as Said Selemani Ally has been banned from entering football stadiums for a period of 12 months following the match between Mashujaa FC and Young Africans SC, which ended in a 2-0 victory for Yanga.

According to TPLB, Said poured liquid substances onto the playing field, an act that was interpreted as witchcraft intended to influence the outcome or conduct of the match. The committee stated that the action violated league regulations, resulting in the disciplinary sanction.

The League Management and Administration Committee said the sanctions against Simba and the action taken against the Yanga supporter are aimed at strengthening discipline, enhancing safety, and protecting the image of Tanzanian football.
