DAR ES SALAAM: THE government has urged Tanzanian entrepreneurs and investors to take advantage of the growing economic opportunities in China to expand their businesses and increase exports of locally produced goods.
The call was made by the Deputy Minister for Industry and Trade, Dennis Londo, while launching the Clinic Day organized by the Embassy of Tanzania in China during the 50th Dar es Salaam International Trade Fair (Sabasaba) on July 4, 2026. The event aims to provide information on investment, tourism and education opportunities.
Londo said the Embassy’s participation demonstrates the practical implementation of Tanzania’s Economic Diplomacy agenda in support of the National Development Vision 2050.
He noted that the Sixth Phase Government under President Samia Suluhu Hassan continues to improve the business environment through policy and legal reforms, at a time when China remains one of Tanzania’s key strategic partners in industrial development, technology and trade, creating significant opportunities for economic growth.
The Deputy Minister further said that China’s zero-tariff policy presents a timely opportunity for more “Made in Tanzania” products to access the Chinese market.
He also warned that the government would take action against individuals whose activities tarnish Tanzania’s reputation in the business sector.
Meanwhile, Tanzania’s Ambassador to China, Dr Suleiman Haji Suleiman, said the Clinic Day had enabled the Embassy to provide valuable information to many Tanzanians interested in conducting business with China.
