
DODOMA: THE construction work at the Dodoma International Stadium has reached 12 per cent, with the project’s perimeter works expected to hit 50 per cent completion by December 2026.
The government Spokesperson and Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Information, Culture, Arts and Sports, Gerson Msigwa, announced the progress after inspecting the ongoing construction of the stadium at Nzuguni area in Dodoma.
He said the facility, which is designed to accommodate 32,000 spectators upon completion, is being developed to meet international standards and support the growth of sports and entertainment activities in the country.

“Delays experienced in the project were partly due to the government’s efforts to ensure the quality of work delivered by the contractor and verify that all necessary infrastructure and equipment are installed to the required standards,” he said.
He stressed that the government is committed to ensuring that the funds allocated to the project match the quality and value of the final facility.
