
DODOMA: TANZANIA’S Minister for Home Affairs, Patrobas Katambi, chaired a working session with officials from the Secretariat for the Prevention and Combating of Human Trafficking aimed at strengthening strategies to combat the crime and enhance national security while protecting citizens from human trafficking.
The meeting, held in Dodoma, brought together senior officials from the Ministry of Home Affairs, including the Director of Administration and Human Resources Management, Gabriel Thobias Mwita, who represented the ministry’s Permanent Secretary, as well as the Secretary of the Secretariat for the Prevention and Combating of Human Trafficking, Seperatus Fella.

Addressing the meeting, Minister Katambi underscored the importance of strengthening coordination and cooperation among institutions involved in preventing and combating human trafficking. He said enhanced collaboration is essential to protecting citizens and safeguarding the country’s security and national interests.
Following the meeting, Minister Katambi inspected the Human Trafficking Communication Service Centre in Dodoma, which receives public reports and provides awareness on the dangers of human trafficking. During the visit, he was briefed on the centre’s operations and its role in raising public awareness and facilitating the reporting of human trafficking cases.
