DAR ES SALAAM: OVER 65,000 residents in Kigamboni district benefited from the ‘Usafi Ndo Zetu’ campaign, which aims at protecting and improving healthcare in the region.

This was said yesterday by the Director of Water Aid Tanzania, Anna Mzinga.

Mzinga said ‘Usafi Ndo Zetu Campaign deliberately connects water sanitation and hygiene with reproductive maternal and child health.

“The project aim to improve wash infrastructure and hygiene practices, alongside the implementation of a broad behavior change campaign on hygiene for the surrounding communities,” she said.

Adding, Ms Mzinga said by doing so around 450 health care workers and 65,000 community members are expected to benefit from the project.

On his part, Kigamboni District Commissioner, on behalf of Dar es Salaam Regional Commissioner, Albert Chalamila, Dalmia Mikaya said a total of 2.6 billion has been donated by private sector stakeholders to strengthen sanitation infrastructure and clean water services in health facilities within the district.

She further explained that the funds are part of the implementation of the ‘Mtu ni Afya’ campaign launched by President Samia Suluhu Hassan in 2024.
