
DAR ES SALAAM: STRENGTHENING corporate governance and enhancing risk oversight are among the key areas to be addressed during the Artificial Intelligence (AI) for Chief Executive Officers (CEOs) masterclass scheduled for Saturday in Dar es Salaam.
Briefing reporters in the over the weekend, Chief Executive Officer of Weledi Africa, Mr Richard Nyema said the session will provide strategic insights into the role of AI in effective leadership and management.
“Participants should expect a high-level strategic conversation on how AI is reshaping national security, geopolitics and diplomacy, rather than a technical or coding session,” he said.
Mr Nyema explained that the masterclass will help decision-makers understand how AI is influencing intelligence, cybersecurity, information warfare, border security, crisis response and diplomatic engagement, and what this means for leadership, policy and national interests.
“Through real global examples and strategic frameworks, participants will gain clarity on the risks, opportunities, governance issues and long-term implications of AI,” he said.
“This will enable them to ask the right questions, anticipate emerging threats and make informed, responsible decisions in an increasingly AI-driven global environment.”

He noted that CEOs are tasked with critical decisions ranging from strategy and governance to growth and risk management, yet traditional approaches are often slow, reactive and prone to blind spots.
According to Mr Nyema, leaders who ignore AI risk inefficiency, missed opportunities and falling behind competitors.
He described AI as a powerful decision-making partner capable of transforming organisational performance.
He further revealed that the firm will host a three-day Corporate AI Bootcamp from March 26 to 28, focusing on lead generation, workflow optimisation, profitability and business growth.
“Our goal is to explore the positive impact of AI in improving work efficiency, recognising that embracing technology in today’s world is no longer optional,” he said.
