
GENEVA: TANZANIA has continued to demonstrate a strong commitment to protecting, promoting, and defending human rights on the international stage.
The statement was made by the Minister for Constitutional and Legal Affairs, Dr Juma Homera, during the commemoration of the 25th anniversary of the adoption of the Durban Declaration and Programme of Action. The event took place during the High-Level Segment of the 61st Session of the United Nations Human Rights Council, held in Geneva, Switzerland.
In his address, Tanzania joined other nations in reaffirming a shared commitment to combating racism, xenophobia, and all forms of discrimination. The country also recalled its historic role as a frontline supporter in the struggle against colonialism and apartheid in Southern Africa.

Tanzania further emphasized that efforts to fight discrimination must prioritize inclusivity, promote equitable development, and ensure equal opportunities for all.
