DAR ES SALAAM: THE Minister for Livestock and Fisheries, Ambassador Bashiru Ally, is expected to grace the opening of the Sixth Seaweed4Health Conference 2026 scheduled to take place tomorrow in Dar es Salaam.

The conference, which is expected to serve as an important platform for unlocking investment, innovation and sustainable development opportunities in the seaweed sector both locally and globally, will bring together stakeholders from within and outside the country.

Ahead of the official opening, a number of pre-conference activities are already underway, including a special study tour for international delegates to key seaweed production areas across the country.

The tour, sponsored by C-Weed Mwani as the Platinum sponsor, has provided participants with an opportunity to gain first-hand experience of the seaweed value chain and explore investment opportunities within the sector.

The tour began in Kilwa, where delegates visited seaweed farms and learned about production, harvesting, processing and marketing of the crop.

Today, June 16, 2026, the delegates continued their tour in Pemba, witnessing ongoing efforts to increase production and improve the quality of seaweed.
