DAR ES SALAAM: THE Tanzania Telecommunications Corporation (TTCL) has invested a total of 903m/- in six new vehicles to strengthen the management of the National ICT Broadband Backbone and improve the efficiency of its technical operations as part of efforts to enhance service delivery across the country.

The vehicles were handed over at TTCL headquarters in Dar es Salaam to the National ICT Broadband Backbone Manager, the Network Operations and Maintenance Manager and the Network Planning Manager.

The handover fulfills a commitment made by TTCL Director General, Moremi Marwa on April 29 this year to continue investing in working tools to improve the corporation’s productivity and operational efficiency.

Speaking on behalf of the Director General, TTCL Technical Director, Engineer Cecil Francis, said the acquisition forms part of the corporation’s 10-year strategic plan aimed at improving the working environment, strengthening the management of telecommunications infrastructure and accelerating service delivery to customers nationwide.

“These vehicles will enable technical teams to respond more quickly to operational needs and enhance the management of the National ICT Broadband Backbone,”she said.

She added; “The vehicles belong to the corporation and those entrusted with them have a responsibility to use and maintain them properly, in line with professional ethics, so they continue delivering the intended benefits.”

Receiving the vehicles on behalf of the beneficiaries, Network Operations and Maintenance Manager, Engineer Abbas Buge, thanked TTCL management for continuing to invest in working tools that enable employees to perform their duties more effectively. He said the investment demonstrates the management’s commitment to improving the working environment and pledged that the vehicles would be used responsibly to enhance operational efficiency and improve services to customers.
