ZANZIBAR: THE Junior Golf Programme at Sea Cliff Resort & Spa Golf Club continues to gather momentum as more young people embrace the opportunity to discover and develop their golfing talents.
The initiative, which has already attracted enthusiastic participation from children and their families, is fast becoming an important platform for nurturing the future of golf in Zanzibar.
Sea Cliff Resort & Spa Golf Club Captain Tazio Bercelli, told the ‘Daily News’ that the club remains committed to introducing children to the game in a fun, friendly and supportive environment.
“The next Junior Golf Camp sessions are scheduled for July 4 and 18, with activities beginning at 12:30 p.m., and participation is completely free of charge,” he stressed.
“This is a very nice initiative to get kids involved and to create a future Zanzibar golf generation,” said Bercelli, emphasising the club’s long-term vision of growing the sport across the island.
He said the Junior Golf programme is designed for children of all skill levels, whether they are picking up a golf club for the very first time or looking to sharpen their existing abilities.
“Participants receive professional instruction from club professional golfer Stanley Sanga, while learning the fundamentals of golf, including proper swing techniques, putting, etiquette and course safety. His hands-on approach ensures every child receives individual attention while building confidence and enthusiasm for the game.
“Beyond developing sporting skills, the camp also encourages teamwork, discipline, confidence and the opportunity to make new friends in a healthy outdoor setting,” he added.

Bercelli said that adding to the experience, participants will enjoy healthy juices, fresh fruit snacks, and refreshments, generously sponsored by Villa Kiva Boutique Hotel in Matemwe. He said the sponsorship reflects the growing community support behind the programme and its mission of promoting healthy lifestyles alongside sporting excellence.
As interest continues to grow, Sea Cliff Resort & Spa Golf Club hopes the Junior Golf Programme will lay the foundation for a new generation of talented golfers who will proudly represent Zanzibar and Tanzania in future regional and international competitions. Parents are encouraged to register their children and take advantage of this unique opportunity to introduce them to one of the world’s most rewarding sports.
