LONDON: THE former Tanzanian president, Jakaya Mrisho Kikwete, is participating in the Africa Summit taking place in London, where leaders are expected to discuss strategies to accelerate the continent’s economic growth, strengthen leadership and boost investment.
The summit, organised by the African Leadership Magazine in partnership with the African Leadership Organization, has brought together government officials, private sector leaders, development partners, academics and other stakeholders under the theme, “From Vision to Velocity: Driving Africa’s Next Wave of Growth and Leadership.”

Ahead of the summit, Dr Kikwete, who chairs the Advisory Board of the African Leadership Organization, presided over a board meeting that discussed strategies for advancing Africa’s socio-economic development, promoting good governance, attracting investment and strengthening international partnerships to support sustainable development across the continent.

The Advisory Board comprises distinguished leaders and experts from across the world, including former Liberian Vice-President Jewel Howard Taylor, Victor Oladokun, former commander of the United States Africa Command, William E. Ward, and ALO Chief Executive Officer Ken Giami, among others.

Dr Kikwete’s participation underscores his continued role in international platforms advocating visionary leadership, regional and global cooperation, and inclusive, sustainable development to drive Africa’s transformation.
