JAKARTA: TWELVE Tanzanian students have graduated with Master’s degrees from Universitas Indonesia (UI) under scholarships provided by the Government of Indonesia through various international student scholarship programmes.
The graduates were honoured during the 2026 International Students Graduation Ceremony held at the Makara Art Center, Universitas Indonesia, in Jakarta, attended by Tanzania’s Ambassador to Indonesia, Ambassador Macocha Moshe Tembele.
The graduates completed studies in a wide range of disciplines, including Public Administration and Policy, Architecture, Sustainable Development, Epidemiology, Social Welfare, Management and Marketing, Engineering, Business Administration, Terrorism and Security Studies, Mechanical Engineering and Political Science.
Speaking on the sidelines of the ceremony, Ambassador Tembele congratulated the graduates on their academic achievements and urged them to apply the knowledge, skills and experience they had acquired in Indonesia to contribute to Tanzania’s socio-economic development.

He also encouraged them to serve as ambassadors of the long-standing friendship and cooperation between Tanzania and Indonesia.
The Ambassador expressed appreciation to the Government of Indonesia and Universitas Indonesia for continuing to provide higher education opportunities to Tanzanian students, noting that educational cooperation plays a vital role in strengthening human capital development and deepening people-to-people relations between the two countries.
The graduation ceremony was attended by Universitas Indonesia officials, ambassadors and representatives of diplomatic missions, graduates, their families and members of the international student community. The event also featured Indonesian cultural and artistic performances.
