LUANDA: THE  7th African Union–European Union Summit of Heads of State and Government has begun today, November 24, 2025, in the Angolan capital, Luanda, this morning

The Tanzanian envoy at the summit is the Vice President, Emmanuel Nchimbi, who chaired an internal meeting to receive a briefing on Tanzania’s preparations for participation in the summit.

During the meeting, the VP received a report from the Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation, Ngwaru Maghembe, who stated that all essential preparations, including Tanzania’s reports and various inputs for the Summit are completed.

The meeting was attended by the Minister of State, President’s Office for Labour, Economy and Investment, Zanzibar, Sharif Ali Sharif, Tanzania’s Ambassador to Angola based in Lusaka, Zambia, Lieutenant General Mathew Mkingule, Tanzania’s Ambassador to Ethiopia and Permanent Representative to the African Union, Innocent Shiyo and Tanzania’s Ambassador to Belgium and the European Union, Jestas Nyamanga.

Others are the Director of the Europe and Americas Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation, Ambassador Swahiba Mndeme and the Director of the Africa Department, Ambassador Ali Bujiku.

The 7th AU–EU brings together Heads of State and Government and Member States for the two unions to reaffirm their shared commitment to multilateralism, solidarity, and joint action to address common challenges.

The summit will climax tomorrow, November 25th, 2025.
