DAR ES SALAAM: THE Director of CRDB Bank Foundation, Tuliesther Mwambapa, has called on youth across the country to actively seize opportunities provided by various institutions to achieve economic independence.
Speaking in Dar es Salaam during an event to announce the results of a youth innovation program in the green economy, Mwambapa said the foundation will continue offering both financial and technical support to help young people grow their businesses and contribute to national development.
She explained that the program is implemented through collaboration between CRDB Bank Foundation and various stakeholders, including development institutions and international organizations involved in climate change initiatives.
Mwambapa noted that this partnership has enabled the establishment of digital systems that simplify the submission and evaluation of applications.
Commenting on the program’s launch held on February 12 in Dodoma, she said the event was attended by government leaders, including the Minister for Planning and Investment, who officially opened the application window for youth and entrepreneurs nationwide.

She also commended the government for creating an enabling environment for the private sector to participate in promoting inclusive and sustainable economic growth, emphasizing that such efforts are key to empowering youth through innovation and entrepreneurship.
Mwambapa stated that the program targets three groups: startup owners, small-scale entrepreneurs, and students with business ideas, aiming to help them develop solutions to environmental challenges while generating income.
She further revealed that within one month of opening the application window, a total of 3,967 applications were received from different parts of the country.
She added that the next stage involves a professional evaluation of submitted projects by a panel of experts from various institutions.
Successful applicants will proceed to specialized training before undergoing business verification.
