DAR ES SALAAM: THE Tanzania Railways Corporation (TRC) has introduced an additional Electric Multiple Unit (EMU) train between Dodoma and Dar es Salaam following a surge in passenger demand for the modern rail service.

According to information issued by the corporation earlier today, June 12, 2026,the extra train will depart Dodoma for Dar es Salaam at 7:00 pm  as the corporation moves to ease congestion and accommodate more travelers using the Standard Gauge Railway (SGR) route.

TRC stated that the decision is aimed at increasing carrying capacity while ensuring passengers continue to receive reliable, safe and efficient transport services.

“Passengers are advised to secure their tickets early through the official booking system to avoid inconvenience caused by high demand,” part of the statement read.
