
ZANZIBAR: THE President of Zanzibar, Dr Hussein Ali Mwinyi, has sworn in Mansura Mosi Kassim as the Secretary of the Revolutionary Council and the General Secretary of the Revolutionary Government of Zanzibar, following her recent appointment.
The swearing-in ceremony was held today at the State House, Zanzibar, and was attended by the Second Vice President of Zanzibar, Hemed Suleiman Abdulla; the Attorney General of Zanzibar, Dr Mwinyitalib Haji, the Grand Mufti of Zanzibar, Sheikh Saleh Omar Kaabi, various leaders of the Revolutionary Government of Zanzibar, Heads of Defense and Security Agencies and religious leaders as well as family members of the Secretary General.
Mansura Mosi Kassim becomes the second woman to hold the position since its establishment, preceded by Ambassador Engineer Zena Ahmed Said, who is currently the Tanzanian Ambassador to Saudi Arabia.

Prior to the appointment on 22 June 2026, Mansura Mosi Kassim was the Permanent Secretary in the Office of the President, Constitution, Law, Service and Good Governance.
