
ZANZIBAR: THE Secretariat for Preventing and Combating Human Trafficking, in collaboration with various stakeholders, has organized a National Conference on Combating Human Trafficking as part of preparations for the International Day Against Trafficking in Persons, which is commemorated annually on July 30.
The conference was held at the Office of the Zanzibar Electoral Commission and brought together various stakeholders involved in efforts to combat human trafficking.
The main objective of the conference was to bring stakeholders together to discuss in depth the current situation of human trafficking in the country, share experiences, and develop joint strategies to prevent and address the crime.

The conference was officially opened by the Minister of State in the Office of the Second Vice President of Zanzibar, responsible for Policy, Coordination and the House of Representatives, Hamza Hassan Juma, who was the event’s chief guest.
Participants discussed the importance of cooperation between the government, institutions, and other stakeholders in strengthening efforts to address the challenge of human trafficking.
